I am a teacher that left the classroom at the beginning of 2023. I am also a Documentary Photographer (www.arcrusephoto.com) who has focused on various aspects of The Culture War raging within American society, especially for the last decade.

In 2011, I left teaching (the first time) to start a production company to focus on making documentaries, educational films and other educational media. I had attended a film production seminar given by a well known Hollywood producer. After buying equipment and learning the necessary skills in order to pursue my dream, I started the company.

One afternoon, I was at one of my favorite watering holes on Galveston Bay contemplating a name for the production company. A waitress who worked at this bar had rescued a juvenile Monk Parrot and its was a very vocal creature. It wanted your attention COMPLETELY…100%!

Since Jimmy Buffett was playing on the jukebox and I was a confirmed Parrothead since 1976, the name Rude Parrot just made sense!

Rude Parrot Productions (www.rudeparrotproductions.com) was born and then...I received "The Call"!

That call was from an old classmate informing me about a reunion of our high school band. You see, our high school band went to Miami the week after Christmas and marched in the Orange Bowl Parade in 1973. That was a defining life experience for a 14 year old kid to be away from home for a week...with his friends...and MOST OF ALL...away from his parents for an entire week! This experience would forge close bonds between my band mates and myself that still continue to this day.

That classmate who called, was the French Horn player that sat on the row in front of me. Well, after the reunion, we started dating and eventually got married. I needed a job, so it was back to the classroom for me. I would have to put that dream on a shelf, hopefully to pick it up again, one day.

Well, that day has come. It is now or never to take a shot on chasing my dream once more…and Rude Parent Productions is now alive and active again!

I am already completing the development phase on my first documentary project and will be starting pre-production in a week or so.

Well, that is a little bit about WHO I am, and next time, we will delve into my WHY!
